Most of the students approved to perform the profession as a job in the future (73,2%), 68,4% were satisfied with the payments, 77,8% had positive expectations and perceptions about nursing. We also found that the most popular reason for choosing nursing was its convenience for being employed easily (53,2%). Unlike qualitative data, quantitative data showed that most students described nursing profession as ideal job for themselves. The results from group interviews were evaluated as description of profession, reasons of choice, image and perception of the profession in public, effects of gender to the profession and professional aspects. We conclude that more studies should be done in order to increase the prestige and positive perception of society on nursing.
