They are divided mainly in two types: Lyotropic LC and Thermotropic LC. This review includes the method of preparation, characterization of liquid crystal and their main pharmaceutical applications. Thermotropic LCs are generally one compounded system while in case of lyotropic liquid crystal, it is multiple compounded system which is made up of solute and solvent. In this review, the types of liquid crystals are defined and classified and the structural properties of LC are explained. The Virgin Mary as a model of obedience in the patristic tradition and her representation in the late medieval iconography of the Annunciation

Social Sciences and Humanities Journal (SSHJ), Volume 10, Aug 2015

Abstract
Within the countless writings on the iconography of the Annunciation there are many that describe the presence and function of its protagonists (Mary, the angel Gabriel, the Holy Ghost in the form of a dove, sometimes God the Father), or the symbolic meaning of some elements present in the scene (a bouquet of lilies, a book of prayers, etc. ). On the other hand, the studies that deal in depth and in an exclusive manner with the feelings and moral qualities exhibited by the Virgin in this significant episode are very scarce, as far as we know. The current paper aims to highlight the unrestricted obedience expressed by Mary when declaring herself “the handmaid of the Lord” and when demanding that the divine will would be accomplished in her, just when she agrees to be chosen by God as virginal mother of his divine Son incarnate. Our study will be conducted on a double, complementary strand: textual and iconic. In a first block, we will delve into primary sources a large set of exegetical passages of Church Fathers and medieval theologians, who interpreted the obedience of Our Lady in function of clear mariological and christological meanings. In a second block we will analyze ten late medieval paintings of the Annunciation in order to determine the objective means and the visual symbols through which each one of these ten artists visualized the confident obedience which, according to the aforementioned patristic and theological exegesis, Mary showed when receiving the divine message by means of the angel Gabriel.

Abstract
The privatization process in Kosovo with all its difficulties, permanent dilemmas entered into the final phase. Despite a considerable number of SOEs privatized until now there has not been any study done by any governmental or non-governmental body that will reflect more comprehensively the performance and its effects in economy. This process until now had several complex problems, changes and political, social, legal interests. In retrospective the privatization process in Kosovo evaluated by academics and media is considered to be one of the most specific and complicated phenomenon for the transformation of social assets in individuals or private enterprises. Its complexity has derived from what is meant by "social ownership" and who has been in fact its official in the past and which the rights are given to working class in possess management and governance. On these bases the Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA) founded by UNMIK in 2002 and later the Privatization Agency of Kosova (PAK) founded in 2008 by the institutions of Kosova after the declaration of independence (2007) have continued with the privatization 15 years later after the dilemmas and institutional transformation and we can say that economy in Kosova is in collapse. PAK with all its successes admits that the difficulties of this process never stop. At the moment PAK is not recognized by the Special Chamber of Supreme Court of Kosova and also there are problems and gaps in the law on the liquidation of social enterprises assets. The legal basis of OVGJS and the execution of the law for the reorganization of specific enterprises and their assets by shortening and simplifying the deadlines because they are causing serious bottlenecks and unwanted delays of proceedings.

Abstract
Assessment of structural quality of care is the beginning of the cycle for assessment of total quality care. OBJECTIVE: The objective of the study was to measure the structural quality (SQ) that supports diabetes services in health centers with comparison to specialized diabetes centers in Khartoum State, 2013. METHODOLOGY: A cross section study was carried at 40 health centres (HCs) and three specialized diabetic centres (SDCs). A check list of 16 items was used for measuring the potential resources of diabetes services in the study centres. The main variables in the check list were availability of; management protocols, trained staff, laboratory investigations, clinical assessment tools, anti-diabetes and anti-hypertensive drugs and the tools for diabetes education and wound management. The knowledge and training of 91 medical doctors were assessed by self-administered questionnaire. The median was used to differentiate the adequate structures of the study centers. ANOVA tested the significance of the mean difference of the SQ scores. Comprehensiveness scores were compared between the HCs and SDCs. Chi square tested the association of study centers with the knowledge of medical doctors about the timing of feet exam and requesting HBA1c. Approval was obtained from Khartoum State Ministry of Health. RESULTS: Adequate SQ was shown in 57.5% of HCs compared to 100% SDCs. The mean SQ score in HCs was significantly low compared to SDCs, 8.33 + 2.8 and 13.0 + 2 respectively, P=0.007. The comprehensiveness score in HCs was 52% compared to 81.3% in SDCs. The proportion of medical doctors in HCs who knew the timing of requesting HBA1c was significantly low compared to SDCs, 41.0% versus 100% respectively, P=0.01. CONCLUSION: Structural quality of diabetes services in health centers is inadequate. Policy makers in Khartoum State Ministry of Health should address this gap.
